An Engineering Company is Looking for an Assistant Finance Manager (Based in Puchong)Your new companyThis reputable company is well known for their engineering services in the construction, energy, marine, mining, forest and oil & gas sectors.Your new roleReporting to the Finance Manager, you will be tasked with:Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, financial statements, and reports for internal and external stakeholders. Perform variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance.Coordinate the budgeting process, working closely with department heads to prepare accurate annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Monitor performance against budget and suggest corrective actions where necessary.Assist in managing cash flow, including forecasting and optimising working capital. Ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.Support the month-end closing process by ensuring timely and accurate reconciliation of accounts, accruals, and revenue recognition.Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, policies, and regulatory requirements. Assist in implementing and improving processes for risk management and financial controls.Liaise with internal and external auditors during audits. Support the preparation of tax calculations and ensure timely submission of tax returns.Work closely with other departments, including operations and project management teams, to provide financial insights and assist with financial decision-making.Provide support to senior finance managers and help with training and mentoring junior finance staff.What you'll need to succeedMust be a qualified accountant with professional qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent), along with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.At least 6-7 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or a similar role.Strong understanding of financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting processes.Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.Previous experience in the auditing field.What you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call Edward Yip at +60378906211 or email Edward.Yip@hays.com.my now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.
