At TE, you will unleash your potential working with people from diverse backgrounds and industries to create a safer, sustainable and more connected world.Job OverviewAnalyze and solve production engineering and new project qualification issues with the objective of ensuring new project launch on time and the production by order while improving efficiency under the supervision of the Sr. Manager PBL organization. As a PBL manufacturing engineer, you will work with cross functions and PBL suppliers, respond to new product quotations, process design, sample qualification, and support sourcing to drive productivity and on-time delivery. You will also train and support PBL suppliers to improve their capability.Responsibilities:Supplier Engineering Capability(i) Support Sourcing for new supplier qualification(ii) Support Sourcing for supplier exit(iii) Support SQE for supplier audit(iv) Supplier assessment to improve supplier capabilityNew Project(i) Support Sourcing for new product quotation(ii) As project leader (for Micro Lite project), manage new project for on-schedule approval(iii) As manufacturing engineer, support supplier for DFM and PFMEA preparation and design review(iv) Support supplier for process and tool design and qualification(v) Follow up on sample making issues and sample schedule requested by customer or PDE, and work with cross-functional team members and suppliers for improvement until approval(vi) Work with PBL suppliers for packing design and qualification testing(vii) Work with suppliers to get all engineering documents done(viii) Work with SQE and suppliers for safe launch process auditSustain Product(i) Work with Sourcing and suppliers to review and improve capacity, including leading copied tool qualification(ii) Work with SQE and suppliers to improve process yield and address any quality problems(iii) Follow EC change and 4M change(iv) Follow material change (alternative) and work with team members to lead new material qualification progress(v) Follow supplier change or migration project (from TE plant to PBL supplier) and work with cross-functional team members and suppliers to follow qualificationProductivity(i) Work with suppliers and team members to identify improvement opportunities, such as process, material, plating, packing, etc.(ii) Follow VAVE project, work with supplier and team members to drive the project and cost reduction(iii) Support Sourcing for cost reduction negotiationCapex Management and Equipment Maintenance(i) Follow capex qualification and work with Finance, Sourcing, and PBL suppliers to manage those capex effectively(ii) Support PBL suppliers to prepare equipment and tool maintenance plans and monitor the execution of the plans by suppliersRequirements:Bachelor's degree in a mechanical-related fieldOver 8 years of total working experienceMore than 5 years of direct experience in Connector and/or Cable manufacturing engineeringStrong communication skills (Mandarin and English)Proven execution abilityWhat your background should look like:Competencies: Integrity, Accountability, Inclusion, Innovation, Teamwork
